About

Nature is what inspires and excites me to create my work. The epic native flora and fauna of New Zealand feature strongly in my designs as well as sweet garden flowers. I studied Textile Design at Massey University in Wellington and now reside in sunny Nelson, New Zealand, creating botanical surface patterns for you and your home.

The Process

Predominantly working in the medium of watercolours, I create hand-drawn illustrations which are then digitally arranged into repeat patterns which often take inspiration from the arts and crafts movement. These patterns are applied to a range of products such as clothing, homewares and stationery. All patterned textiles have been designed by myself, digitally printed onto high quality fabrics and sewn in my little home studio in Nelson. The digital printing process uses water-based pigment inks and dyes, with very little waste.

Design Ethos
Disillusioned by the fast fashion industry of today, the core values in my design practice are: promotion of the importance and relevance of hand-made and hand-craft skills, ethical production with as little impact on the environment as possible, and creation of beautiful, quality pieces that can be used in everyday life.
